Wausau Campus professors have been popular speakers at community events for years, and their in-person presentations have been missed by many during the pandemic. In response to recent popular demand, UWSP at Wausau has announced a series of “HANK Talks” online Zoom events featuring the following:
- Feb. 16, 2021: “Why Slavery Caused the Civil War and Why That Matters Today” by Dr. Brett Barker, Professor of History.
- March 16, 2021: “Apple Core Lore: Origins of America’s (Second) Favorite Fruit” by Dr. Paul Whitaker, Professor of Biology.
- April 20, 2021: “Slivered Words on Silver Screens: Exploring and Creating Poetry Films” by Professor Jill Stukenberg, Associate Professor of English.
The HANK Talk sessions are branded under our campus Husky canine mascot, Hank. Click here for information on the new HANK Talk program on the campus website, which will be frequently updated.
Did You Know?
Did you know all funds donated to the UW Wausau Campus Foundation remain in Wausau and directly benefit current and prospective UW Stevens Point at Wausau students? And, while scholarships are a huge part of what we do, your donation to our Annual Fund campaign will also help fund:
- Research awards and study programs
- Faculty and staff professional development and recognition
