2021 Scholarship Recipients Pick Up STEAM

STEAM scholarships target students who plan to major in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art/Design or Math- or Finance-related disciplines. Applicants for the STEAM scholarships submitted essays explaining how they have impacted the community so far, and how they might impact the community if they return to work and live here after completing their higher education. A faculty committee then selected the recipients based on merit, need and a ranking of the essays. Read More

Women Supporting Women: It’s Extraordinary

The UW Wausau Campus Foundation began the 100 Extraordinary Women Scholarship program in 2017, when 125 women each contributed $1,000 to support scholarships for women on the Wausau campus over a 5-year period. Six women are currently benefiting from this program, and we will announce the next round of scholarships later in 2021. Here is a testimonial from current recipient Tanya Lybert:

"I want to thank the 100 Extraordinary Women Scholarship donors for helping me achieve my goal of becoming a social worker and get closer to my main goal of becoming a mental health social worker. I have a 4.0 GPA for this semester, even with all the challenges that COVID-19 has thrown my way. I still have three jobs but with the scholarship I am able to keep my head above water. Words are insufficient to express my gratitude for being awarded this scholarship. I just want the donors to know how grateful I am to all of them for awarding me with the funds to further my education. When I complete my schooling, I will pay it forward by helping people that are in the greatest need. Again, thank you so very much for help in reaching my goals."
